Giving Thanks

Being in a foreign country over an American holiday stirs up a bunch of questions concerning what that holiday is all about. So I know it has to do with the Pilgrims and Indians and something about Plymouth Rock, but what is the historical significance of Thanksgiving? Is it the first successful English/protestant colony? I have no idea and always use that 4th Thursday of November to stuff myself...no questions asked. Glutteny at its finest, the American way! Any ideas on what is actually going on?

beach driving

Maybe I just forgot how frustrating it is to be stuck in traffic after living in Queenstown, which doesn't even have a traffic light, cause I hate it. I guess it wouldn't be all that bad, but the beach is flooded with old people who flock to the warm weather and who have no idea how to drive. They seriously just make up their own rules for the road and get away with it because they are old. I see a scotter in the near future to get around this appauling traffic and I can't wait!

This thing just blew my mind. By far the brightest rainbow I have ever seen... Posted by Picasa

I live at the beach

I live in the wonderful beach town of Mt. Maunganui. The beach is about 30-40 yards away from my bed that is encapsulated by a 2 million dollar house owned by a 45 year old masseuse and her yellow lab - Gus. Got a hot tub and tennis court as well.

This dude had the best mullet I have ever seen. It was like a lions mane. Perfectly manicured, he knew exactly what he was doing. Posted by Picasa

Europeans have no shame...everyone would be better off not having to see this, but since I did I figured I would share it with all of you Posted by Picasa

This randy little bastard was making a scene down in Stewart Island. You could hear him going nuts up and down the beach. We sat there and watched him as he reached his thunderous climax. It was spectabcular, and the best part was right after he finished he struted down to the ocean to let the cool water soothe his exhausted area. No small talk or cuddling. He was straight business! Posted by Picasa
